The Wedding Song

Book Review by: Dr_Tami_Brady

Original Author: Ira Eisenstadt
Sol Bable is stuck between the life he wishes he had the courage to live and the life he has. As a young want to be baseball
player, he spent time in Jamaica where he explored its traditional beliefs and ancient mysticism. He also explored his sexuality. Sol only did so though with trepidation and guilt. He felt obligated to be a star, make the money, and marry the girl back home. Eventually, his guilt won out and he became a shadow of his former self- A man always finding himself in difficulties and then having to apologize for his inexcusable actions. The Wedding Song shows a life and problems of a very average couple. However, in doing so, it also illustrates both sides of marital issues. Is cheating really meant as a slight to the spouse or that the marriage is in trouble or is the issue much deeper that both individuals are unhappy with who they’ve become.
