Katelynn hailed a cab and went to the emergency room, she explained to the doctor on duty, what had happened. He admitted
her for the next two day’s and ran every test he could.
The doctor then sent her home with a number for a therapist at the hospital and a great bill of heath, and a bill for all the tests ran.
This time, Katelynn left her hair red. Truth was she was scared to do any thing else. At least until she could figure out what was going on?
She had stopped at the library and picked up some books on spilt personalities.
She fixed herself some soup, and then she settled in for some heavy reading, but she soon fell fast asleep. Worn out from not sleeping well at the hospital and worry, she slept till midnight, then woke and crawled into bed and fell right back to sleep.
Katelynn slept until noon the next day. All day long she kept thinking about what had happened. Was someone breaking in to her
apartment, or was she having some sort of breakdown?
Katelynn cleaned every part of her apartment from ceiling to the floors and then cleaned some more. It helped her think, and today she needed to think. Every time she came across a mirror she would stop and stare at herself, one time she forgot and scared herself, when she saw the stranger
looking back. By the end of the day, she liked her hair, even thou it was so out of character for her, her apartment was spotless clean.
She fell to sleep, exhausted from all the work she had done.
When she awoke the next morning she felt refreshed and happy for the first time in a long time. Not that Katelynn was sad, just not really happy. This happiness was like a child at Christmas.
She felt so good, she took herself to breakfast. She couldn’t believe all the attention she was getting with her new hair color and cut, it made her feel up beat and confidant, something she had never really been before.
Katelynn took herself shopping again and this time she bought herself some updated clothes. She even had her nails done. When she arrived home she looked in the mirror and she didn’t recognize herself. It was like looking at someone else in your body and with the new clothes, even that look strange.
She tried on all her new clothes over and over looking at the new Katelynn, she loved the changes.
When she grew tired at last she took a long hot bath and fed herself and Jake, they ate watching the news.
When the news came on about the young couple found dead, in their car, she dropped her fork into her plate making it fall out of her hands on to the floor. She watched in horror as the news ran the story, but what really got her was the fact she knew what the seine looked like, in her mind, without seeing it on the television screen.
Katelynn started to shake, like a cold hand ran up and down her spine. She became very scared, of what she had no knowledge, a dream maybe, that’s what it seemed like, a dream. Could she be getting some type esp. It scared her and yet it thrilled her, made her blood start racing, she made a metal note to pick up the paper the next day.
Katelynn then went to bed and dreamed of death, and not her own.
