The Five People You Meet in Heaven

Book Review by: saltandpepper

Original Author: Mitch Albom
Every event in your life happens without accident, and every person you encounter in your life surely has a purpose in it!
This is what ‘The Five People You Meet in Heaven’ tells.
Eddie, who worked in an amusement park at Ruby Pier died while trying to save the life of a child at the park. Hence, he woke up in the heaven and met five people in his life on earth who have taught him a lesson respectively.
The first person, the blue-skinned man told Eddie that he was indirectly responsible to his death, and so he taught him that every event in his life is not random, rather it happens with a reason.
The second person is his former war captain who taught him the lesson of sacrifice-as he tried to keep Eddie alive he shot his leg to prevent him from running to the fire.
Then he met Ruby, whom the pier was named after. She let him see how his father was being loyal to his best friend and that he managed to let go his anger towards his father.
The forth person Eddie met was his late wife Marguerite who told him how much she still love him even after she died. This gave him a lesson on the power of love that endures forever.
And finally Eddie met the young Filipino girl name Tala. Tala was burned death by Eddie accidently during the war but Tala appeared to tell Eddie that he was placed in the park for the rest of his life after the war for a special purpose that is to keep children safe.
If you are unhappy about your life, this is a very good book that leads you to see things that you may not see that hides behind all your anger, resentment, sorrow and self-abandon.
