acclaimed by the new york times as ‘the best first mystery novel of the year ‘ for his first novel “the naked face” . This novel is about two people- Toby Temple and Jill Castle. Toby Temple always try to do things which can make his
mother happy and finds that the only way to make his mother happy is to imitate others and therefore he and his mother began to dream of becoming a film star . Josephine was very depressed and then she decided to run away from her place and changes her name as Jill Castle and tried her luck at Hollywood.but her luck was not good she became the victim of many cruel men and then she realises that she can be successful in cinema if she uses her body and then she signed many small roles in films and advertisements. And then the time came when both Jill and Toby met for a shotting .Toby tried to seduce her but failed but began tolove her and then he had a great feeling which was new for him .He has never experienced with any other woman and his feelings toward her intensifies.then they bot got married in spite of the 20 years gap between them .and lead a very happy life .after few Jill beacem very successful in the film industry and took revenge against everyone who victimised her and she becomes the world for Toby.
