My Nerdy Valentine

Book Review by: RoseFernandez

Original Author: Vicki Lewis Thompson
Nerds get the spotlight this time.
Bestselling author Vicki Lewis Thompson offers this refreshing take on the nerdy
side in a story that is both hilarious and sensual at its best.
Amanda Rykowsky is a very busy woman, focused and determined. It doesn’t matter that she’s stuck with the most outrageous internship with a sex therapist or that she can be considered by other people as a nerd. One thing’s for sure; she’ll get her diploma and become a certified psychologist. That is, if she gets out of Dr. Gloria Tredway’s attempts in spicing up her sex life.
Valentine’s Day is approaching and Amanda started receiving cards and notes from a secret admirer, much to her excitement, having an inkling as to who it was from. She was flattered at first until the messages became too personal and even becoming downright offending.
Amanda suspects William Sloan, the gorgeous stockbroker she ran smack against on her way to the clinic one day while juggling parcels of sex toys and porn videos in her heavy laden arms that accidentally spilt all over the floor. Armed with the perverted messages, she sought him out in his office in the same building as the Dr. Tredway’s clinic, ready to put a stop to his harassment. But Amanda came accusing the wrong man as William clearly proved he wasn’t the one sending her those valentines. But as far as she could think, there was no other man she knew who would dare considering that the moment they met in that awkward scenario, there was an obvious chemistry between them. Not to mention that her boss, upon seeing gorgeous William, wanted a piece of that nerdy ass as well.
Denying those absurd accusations from Amanda, William suddenly wanted to be her knight in shining armor and rescue her from the pervert who was stalking her. It didn’t help that whenever he sees at Amanda looking all stunning and refreshingly fascinating, William found himself powerless to the invisible pull as a primitive instinct to protect Amanda surfaced. Soon, he was suggesting becoming a decoy boyfriend to keep the psycho admirer from coming close to Amanda. But what started out as an innocent sense of protecting became a full-fledged attraction between them as they fought off a mysterious admirer who still can’t stop from sending dubious valentine notes together.
Amanda couldn’t deny that having William near her made her little less nervous about her stalker. In fact, pretending to be William’s girlfriend made her look beyond his silly, geeky hat or his penchant for playing trivia games in Geekland, a local bar catering to the nerds she works part-time in, and see the sexy man that he was. This growing attraction was wreaking havoc to her carefully laid plans, that much was true. But, she knew that after the pervert was caught, so as their ‘pretend’ relationship.
Playing detectives was one hell of a trial when they both find themselves spending more time getting to know each other, sharing the undeniable attraction they were both feeling for each other and unresistingly fall under the Valentine magic. But for every waking moment, a threat lurks to burst the bubble of a newfound love.
William knew that whoever was responsible for the sordid messages sent to Amanda could only come from one of the sex-crazed patients Dr. Tredway was treating in her clinic, so they set out a trap. It wasn’t the kind of trap they were expecting though as it turned out to be a deciding factor if he was truly meant to be Amanda’s knight in shining armor.
