Gucci Gucci Coo
Just another chick-lit
novel? Not in my opinion! In fact, I would say Sue Margolis' "Gucci Gucci Coo" is one of the best of its kind as the author rewards her readers with both a tense and relaxing scenario (as strange as it sounds!), a catchy plot which humorously brings in attention serious topics, such as
maternity, social bonds, the false image VIP-s promote and medical ethic. Ruby Silverman, the heroine of the novel, is one of the owners of a fashionable
baby shop, called "Les Sprogs", along with her high-handed and annoying cousin, Stella. The "Les Sprogs" usual customers are mostly
celebrities whose babies are only another trendy accessory, along with their designer bag collection, and who mysteriously
manage to get back their flawless figures as soon as they hold their precious gems for the very first time. Playing Sherlock Holmes for a bit, Ruby suspects there''s something suspicious going on at the most prestigious maternity in London, St. Luke, and
decides to investigate the case on her own, but everything gets even more puzzled when an unpredictable element cuts in this detective game:
love! Will Ruby manage to solve the mystery, face the shock of her fifty-year old hippie mother having a baby, save the shop when Stella, who owns 90% of the business decides to withdraw her share of capital, and still have time to keep her relationship with Sam, a handsome Jewish doctor, whom she is madly in love with? Curious, aren't you? Well, this funny and sweet novel will certainly satisfy your curiosity...
