Zoya is a story begun in Pre-
Revolution Russia, continues in WW1 Paris and ends in America.
The story is about Zoya,
a girl from the aristocratic classes of Russia. The Russian
revolution caused the young girl to grow up as herself and her
grandmother had to flee to Paris through illegal routes. This was because the revolution was against the aristocrats. Unfortunately for Zoya, she lost all her family but her grandmother to the revolution. This made her a stronger person.
On arriving Paris, herself and her grandmother made do by selling their jewelry. However when this resource ran thin Zoya resorted to dancing, her childhood although forbidden passion. It was as a dancer that she met her first love.
Subsequently, she went through years of loving and losing men, in the process she moved to America with her second love. This was after she lost her grandmother. Zoya''s husband died in a heart attack leaving her and her two children in penury. She eventually worked her way back to success, but she had spoiled her second daughter rotten. This daughter eventually became a source of grief to Zoya when she died in a drunken-driving accident.
Fortunately the girl left Zoya a granddaughter with which the now- aging woman could be consoled. Thus even with all the grief and sorrows she experienced in her lifetime, Zoya was definitely going to have a happy old age as she had money, love and family.
