story in which the writer depicts the psychological situation of the inner-self of the heroine. Liza Barton enters in the story with the name of Celia Nolin along with her 4 year old son and second husband Alex Nolin .Several plots of the story runs parallel. From the very beginning we find Celia in a miserable situation when her husband buy her a
house as birthday gift but apparently he was unaware of the fact that it was her own house where she accidentally kills her mother and wounded her step-father years ago when she was a child. Worst of all the house was severally vandalized on the day her arrival and the
people of the town remember again all about that incident which Celia want to forget but not. The story reveal further and many odd incidents occurred in which the
Police got suspected about her because she was found near two murdered people and she haunts by the idea of living in this house however her husband insists to live here. She was in intense pain a police detective follows her and she receives phone calls in which someone threatened her with her real name .She has no one around to confides and prove her innocence because most of the people in the town believe Liza an evil. At last she consults her old Psychiatrist Dr.Moran who comforts her and suggests appointing a lawyer to deal with the present situation. She consulted the same lawyer who defends her years before. Then she discovered even another fact that her
father was not died in accident but was killed. In the meantime, a reporter and a police officer dig up her past and informed the chief prosecutor about it who however had a sympathetic attitude towards her. He thought if Celia is really Liza Barton then she must be a victim of all this. So, contacted her lawyer and told him about her. Celia eventually met him and tells about the whole incidents. By this time when she was horrified by the fact that next day every one will discover that Liza is back. She decided to tell the truth to Alex .At night she took sleeping pills and slept.
Jack was with her. It was not so long when someone wake her and forcibly make her to drink something she also heared jack’s weeping. Alex was there and he carried both in the car standing in the garage and left it started. Then he closed the door. Celia was shocked by the presence of Alex at home. It was obviously the plan of killing her along with her son. But she was not able to move. Jack was sleeping near her. She wake the up with a great effort and the guide him to turn the switch of car off and open the automatic garage door. The child sleeps again after following his mother’s instructions. She opened eyes in the hospital, the prosecutor was there. He told her the whole drama and Alex was behind all this because he was aware about her past and the fortune which Jack inherits from his late father. The police also arrest Liza’ s step father who at last testified that he was the responsible of the death of Liza’s father and mother and Liza is innocent. It was yet the beginning of new life of Liza. People of the town visit him with flowers and food and welcome her in the hometown. Liza then married the prosecutor Jeff Mechingsly and tried to forget Alex‘s unfaithfulness.
