Silk
After reading and hearing several
good comments for the
novel ‘Silk’, when I finally decided to
watch the
movie, I was happy that I made a good decision. I felt lucky to have the opportunity to watch a movie based on such a great artist, as I am on my way reading his novel ‘Ocean Sea’. At least unlike others, this time my 3 hours would be utilized in watching a movie based on award winning novel of Alessandro Baricco. After purchasing the DVD of ‘Silk’, it was like I had won a
battlefield. The battlefield conquered, I watched the movie without even leaving a single glimpse waiting for some ‘good events’ to come. I must confess the only thing that I liked was a particular somberness and the eagerness of Michael Pitt to
leave France three times. I wonder despite being married to a lovely lady and with so much wealth on his way, what caused Michael Pitt to leave his country. I couldn’t understand. A good effort to present before the
audience a blend of both ancient and modern art remained unable to capture compliments at least from my family and friends. Though heavily strewn by artistic scenes merged with nudity, the movie might attract other artists and audience, but for me it was something – waste of time!
