The "Perfume" is indeed about an unusual man, who is gifted.
Our hero, Grenouille, has a sense of smell extremely out
of the ordinary, which the world has never known before. that sense of smell is what dictates Grenouille his path in the world and the occurrences that shape his life.
Grenouille was born it the gutters of Paris, in the 18th century.
His mother was executed, and he remained an orphan.
Thus the child was transferred from place to place, finding his niche each and every time.
His obsession to scents Grenouille starts to feed already at a very young age. He builds his world by cataloguing every scent he gets,
and he starts his journey after the perfect smell.
That journey collects a toll from him and people around him,
yet Grenouille stays indifferent to the world, for he is determined to demand ownership on the devine scent- the scent of a girl.
The book is thrilling and fascinating. the plot is extraordinary and unconventional, and even though Grenouille has pushed it to the limit, we all have our addictions, big and small. Certain things that we emphasize from the rest, which makes it easier for us to identify with the main character.
Grenouille actually express throughout the entire book the feeling of love/ lust, an emotion we all feel at one time or another.
Recommended mainly for those who want to experience something a little different and out of the ordinary.
