This book is a beautiful, searingly honest, and real,
love story. It is an admittedly autobiographical novel by the author
of JONATHAN LIVINGSTON SEAGULL and ILLUSIONS. He is a very highly developed person spiritually, and yet he has the all-too-human foibles that bring him down to earth, so to speak, for the rest of us. He has issues with intimacy, commitment and closeness; in this story, he and his
love have the countless timing and scheduling and financial problems two high level career couples face--and then some. But this book is not only a beautiful
romance, gentle and nonviolent, and yet exciting in an
on-the-edge-of-your-seat-sometimes suspenseful story; it is fulfilling and beautiful as only a true love can be. It shows how people too busy, too scared, too idealistic, and too many other things, can grow into a
relationship and help each other grow into and with it, in spite of all the obstacles Fate and imperfection can throw in the way. There is much wisdom in this book, in the story and its consequences, the journey of two souls who found each other and a journey together; but in the little parables and and stories scattered throughout the book. The visions, the dreams, the spiritual and meditational experiences, though
few in number, are salient, and worth the price and time for the book in themselves. Yet, excellent storyteller that he is, the author never lets his dreams get in the way of a beautiful story.
