The Perfect Distance

Book Summary by: rhonefrencis

Original Author: Kim Ablon Whitney
Francie Martinez loves horses. Her love for horses comes both from her father´s work as a manager in a stall in a school
where riders are trained to participate in equestrian competitions around the country, and from her living in a house within that same school surrounded by her beloved horses. Mr. Martinez works for Rob, famous for training some of the best riders in North America and owner of the riding school. Francie works for him together with her father and other Mexican grooms. As part of her payment, Rob allows her to ride one of his horses, Tobey; and train with the rest of the riders in her free time from college and work.
She trains hard and her dream is to be the best rider in North America. When she competes, one of her expectations besides winning is to receive Rob´s attention and pride. But no matter how hard she tries, or how well she does in the competition, Rob never cares for what she does. He only cares for Tara, his best student. Along the story, Francie faces many different situations. She lives the bitterness of betrayal, the pain of death, the exciment of competing, the pride of winning ... but the most important of all, she lives the pleasure of  understanding who she is through every event she goes through. We all have a Francie Martinez within ourselves. There comes a time in our lives when we come to realize that everything we do leads us to be who we are, and to have a better understanding of who we are. Therefore it is important to live our lives in such a way that we can be proud of the person inside us.
