This book is not simply novel alone. It is so much more than that. It is a wonderful journey through a chapter
of one man''s life. As a professional violinist Michael had an emotional breakdown that lead to him losing the love of his life, the pianist in a trio he used to play with. Through the course of the book he happens upon her again, quite by accident, and discovers to his joy that she now lives close by. All is no longer how it was ten years ago in their original relationship, and despite their attempts to rekindle what once was, things can never reutrn to what they were. Even though they both realise they will remain in love with each other forever the relationship is lost once more as a consequence of decisions they both made in the past. Throughout the story is the passion not only of their love for each other, but for the love they both share for music. While music was what brought them together in the first place, it eventually becomes solace for Michael in his solitude.
