The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon by Stephen King
Synopsis
This is a
simple story about a
young girl who gets horribly lost in the woods and maintains her hope by fixing upon her hero, baseball pitcher Tom Gordon.
Stephen king''s mastery of story telling keeps the plot moving and creates a genuine attachment to the young heroine as she trys to walk her way out of trouble and only succeeds in walking further into the wilderness and in doing so attracting the attention of a large bear that proceeds to stalk her through the woods.
As the plot develops, it seems that only the girl''s near magical love for Tom Gordon can save her
King''s clever use of imagery, and tension will have you glued to the pages as the inevitable confrontation between bear and young girl draws near. This is not a
horror story, but a masterful tale of hope, and the absolute belief in heroes that they we all held when we were children.
An excellent story
