Ibrahim was excited beyond words when he received his letter of admission into the National
university to read Aeronatic
engineering which was the course of his dream.
With the great news of his son''''s admission into the
university, Alhaji Hassan was able to convince members of the community union to give his son a scholarship that would finance his school fees throughout his stay in school. Thus, with the hopes of the entire community hung on his shoulders, Ibrahim journeyed from north to east seeking to become the first aeronatic engineer of his community.
Ibrahim had a relatively quiet life on campus until his fourth year. He came back home from a long day of lectures to meet Seun his roommate with two other guys dancing to a very loud music. Iritated by the scenery, Ibrahim turned down the volume of the radio and asked that they take their party elsewhere. In response, the two other guys invited him to join their cult, to which he said no. Cult groups still continued pressuring him to be one of them but he still maintained his stand and refused to join any of them until one day when he got to school to find out that one of his results had been seized, he was so distraught that he sat in front of the lecturers office deep in thought. Here was where Tola his coursemate found him. Tola offered him a solution to his problem, he said he would introduce him to some people that would be able to help him. Seeking to find a solution to his problem, Ibrahim followed Tola without any suspicion, not knowing it was a ploy to initiate him into the
brotherhood cult.
After his initiation, Ibrahim became a totally different person, he changed from a quiet, hardworking and well brought up young man to a terror on campus. He rose quickly through the ranks of the brotherhood and within four months of his initiation he had risen to become the second in command, thus when some members of the brotherhood including the cappoon was gunned down, the mantle of leadership fell on Ibrahim to lead the brotherhood, without any waste of time he declared war on members of the knife society who were responsible for the shooting of the brotherhood members. He himself led the assault on the house of the cappoon of the knife society, there he was surprised to see crazo and Banjo; the two friends of seun who had tried to convince him to join their cult, without hesitation he ordered his men to shoot without mercy.
Years after his graduation from the university, Ibrahim lived a sucessful life working at the National Aviation Service with a comfortable apartment and a car to go with it. He had also graduated to join the big league members of the brotherhood; members who were movers and shakers of the society.
He was invited to the old boys association meeting of the National university, after being away from the school for so many years he was eager to go back there but not before he went for his monthly fortication against bullets, machetes and whatsoever form of weapon that could be used against him. This month he chose to use his sister as his fortification symbol, meaning that nothing can kill him as long as he sees his sister face to face.
With this confidence behind him ho journeyed from his base in Port- harcourt to the National University. On the morning of the meeting he got a call from his mother that his sister was urgently needed back at home. After trying unsucessfully to plead with his mother to allow his sister stay with him, he asked his driver to take her back home. After the meeting he went with the present cappoon and some members of the brotherhood to a bar for some drinks. As they drank, a little boy approached their table with a confidence that shocked everyone, the little boy walked up to Ibrahim and slapped him hard across the face, then the little boy took some steps back.
