That book describes polish people in XIX century. Their mentality is diffrent than mentality wchich is today. The action
of this book is while Poland is occupied by : Germant, Russia ,and Austria. Kordian(general hero of that one)was born in krezmionki. Today it's part of cracow.that place today is in one of cracow's district(Podgórze).Kordian came from noble family. His abilities were typically for romanticists. He was a romanticist. Majority of polish society was very poor then.They didin't think about freedom of matherland.they thought about surviving,not dieing . Kordian was a nobleman, so he didin't have to worry about own life. So he was thinking over patriotic things. He was sure,he could help Poland,but that was a error. All tried to change him,but that didin't give effect. One day came there his cousine. He fell in love with her. He proposed her to be each other but she refused. Then he was very depressed. He begun to think over to do the suicide. He tried to do this,but fortunately he surviver. after that trial, he wondered to change. So he went to Great Britain. He went there to typical london's garden. He wanted to relax. Later he wondered to go to Watykan. He wanted to talk witj Papieist.But he told him,that not to be against tsar. He asked for him about praying for Poland, He brought even a bit land from poland, but priest told to him that was stupid. Later he wondered to hung into mountain. He was in mont blanc. He felt like a person who could to flie. He felt he was free,but he undersood he was one. Nobody couldn't understand gim. He was an evenement. He understood that Polish patriotism is not too huge.But he had some idea. So he wondered begin to work as diplomatist. So heh ad to be in diffrent europeans countries. Then he gave mysterial/secret letters to other men. There was polish government too.He was kind of person who joined both polish and europe. all was secret.One day he persuaded some Polishes to attack for tsar. Later he had toprotect tsar at night so he had the best ocassion to kill him then. ONe day earlier all members had secret meeting in castle. majority of them was oppsose. there was a lot of opponents that idea. We can to notice there diffrents currents like: romanticism and earlier current too.People who didin't believe in romanticism, they disagreed with that idea.They all were opponents, and romanticists were for that ,but they were terrified too. They knew, that was good idea,but they weren't able to do this. So Kordian wondered to do this. He took knife,and he intended to kill him. but suddenly he's got some aches. Then tsar woke up,so he ddin't have an ocassion to kill him. When tsar got to know about trial to kill him,then he ordered to kill him. In the end his brother came there to ask for him about protect that one. He promised he didin't make this. He told he was one of his soldiers so tjat was kind of mistake. Tsar signatured that one,but te book ends with'open-ending'. That happened too late, so we aren't sure if he becamealive or not.
