To Mother Nature
O! The mother of
mothers The pacific countenance of
reality I honour thee in the name
of God.
O! The potentate of destiny,
The one striving to flourish peace on earth
Accept my respectful obeisance
In my spontaneous ode to thee.
You, the solitary life-giving potion,
Are you transcendental existence?
You lived since time immemorial
Life on earth shall continue until you exist.
You do but overshadow death.
You are truly to be revered
As the maintainer of all living entities.
O! The adversary of misery,
You rein knowledge and wisdom,
Thus, the access to enlightenment.
I plead you not to cry at the sight of ignorant man
Bound up with mundane actions.
Is their intellect suppressed by delusion?
Don’t they know what they desire is within them?
You, being the authentic purport of love
Shaped great men to know the
reality of life.
How I delight to look at your hard work
To make every ordinary men learn the same.
But concurrently despair at their disability to understand you.
What language will you use to make us all comprehend?
O! The mother of
mothers,
You are the sole supreme creation of God,
Never shall he be able to create the same yet again.
