This story starts as I enter a door noticing baskets on a
laundry mat floor. It looked to be normal as I went on inside,
until I got the smell of something that died. I looked to the back as someone entered the store, dragging a basket across that
laundry mat floor.
I too had a basket of clothes to be cleaned, but I saw I must wait for an empty machine. I greeted that person while he turned to the door, but with no response as he moved cross the floor, when I moved through, that smell got a lot stronger. I didn''t think I could take it much longer. There were flies buzzing around here and there, yet in no time they were filling the air. That got me
looking as I saw even more, coming from the baskets on that laundry mat floor. I moved through those flies, and that gut wrenching smell, to look in a basket, a basket from hell. The basket was filled with torn body parts I saw kidneys, livers, eyeballs and hearts. The hearts were still beating, as I saw arms and legs, and many more flies still laying their eggs. Though frightened, I had to I had to search more, more of those baskets on that laundry mat floor.
Some of them empty, others are full still and more contain maggots enjoying their meal. I ran to a washer and looked down inside, that left me to wonder just how they all died. The agitator turning in water blood red, body parts churning of the mangled up dead. I slammed the lid closed and turned toward the door, leaving my basket on the laundry mat floor. Yet I felt like a fish caught in a net. Oh help me dear lord, what fate have I now met?
I heard a noise behind me and turned back to see, that strange looking fellow with his eyes fixed on me.
He stood in a doorway holding a broom, sweeping back maggots, as flies darkened the room. Now I''m starting to panic, "oh why did I come through that door"? I can''t even remember where I come from before. All these dead people, but no time to grieve. I''m living a nightmare, one I can''t leave. So what do I do now, where do I stand? One thing is clear my fate is in my hand. I feel my body, get warmer as fear turns to rage, trapped like some animal, I must escape from my cage. So I lunge towards the strange one holding the broom, we both become airborne and we land in that room. We land in those maggots and are covered by flies, but in the next moment, well one of us dies. The broom handle shatters, as we go to the floor, I grab it and stab him at least ten times or more. I drive it in his eye socket the sound is quite dull, as the flies and the maggots get pushed in his skull. My rage slowly eases as I bust up his head, I feel him quit fighting, he is now dead. I jump to my feet, looking around hoping there''s a way out to be found. As I look through those flies I see a back door, mashing the maggots, I move cross the floor. I''m wiping my eyes, as I try to think clear, please let this be my way out of here. I throw up my hands, as I trudge cross the floor, mashing dead flies and their guts on that door. Just then it flung open and bounced off the wall. As I ran through the doorway I started to fall. I threw out my arms, trying to slow my descent, but there was nothing below me and downward I went. Deeper and deeper, deeper I fell, is my life over, am I headed to hell? My heart races wildly, as I''m filled with fright, until I awaken in a small room of white. Just then someone enters, it''s time for my pill, he sees that I am sweating and my heart''s racing still. He gives me the pill and heads out the door. While still in my doorway he is joined by two more, carrying a basket from that laundry mat floor.
