The soil faces several hardships through a
process, before
it is transformed into some useful shape, like that of a pitcher. This book narrates this
process of converting into the desired useful shape. It is a unique epic of poetry, written all in free verse style translated into English. The poet extends this example to the case of the human being with his internal world being taken as soil. This conversion of soil into a pitcher is compared with the case of a human being going up to the end, namely liberation of the soul. The hero is the potter and soil is the heroine, but the romance is spiritual. The attraction of the book is the choice of words in the poems. The book has four Chapters and around 500 pages. Section one gives the process of purification, for giving a meaningful shape. As per section two, word is merely speaking, and if we know its complete meaning it is understanding and if we put it in practice in conduct, it is purification. As per section three, we earn merit by doing good deeds and desire to give
happiness to all, and when we get anger, pride, and greed etc. we are committing sin. In section four the poet describes about the final process, after giving shape to the soil as a pitcher. This covers a wide field and draws many inferences. Some of the poems are reproduced below:
“When misunderstanding gets removed, labour becomes unnecessary, the body becomes healthy, and the mind carefree.”
“Don’t talk of killing, go on struggling! Don’t talk of defeat, go on rising!”
