FanStory.com is an excellent site for writers. I highly recommend it. Writing is reviewed by writers and readers on the site.
A separate review is also available by a committee of published authors.
I have been writing on the site for two years. I post poems and book chapters. I just completed my second book. I post each chapter on the site when I finish it and get
feedback on each chapter. It keeps me motivated and I have a fan base that reads the book as I post it. It is a great help to get feedback for your book as you post it. The site uses a six star ratings scale with "1" being the worst and "6" being the best.
The site recognizes writing with "Recognized", "All Time Best" and "Seal of Quality" levels. Each level is more difficult to receive. If something I post does well it can reach this level.
I also participate in the writing
contests on FanStory.com. There are no fees to enter contests and there are many contests to choose from. FanStory has contests for poets, short story writers, script writers and non-fiction writers. Some members also create their own contests. A writer can challenge other writers to write about a specific topic or a specific form of writing. So, for example, you could challenge other writer to write a haiku poem. When all the submissions are made a voting booth is created and the site members choose the winners.
The rankings are also fun. Writers are ranked based on the feedback they receive. There are rankings for different forms of writing including Poets, novel writers, short fiction writers and screenplays. Trophies are rewarded to the top five writers in each of the individual rankings at the end of the year.
I highly recommend FanStory.com to anyone that is interesting in improving their writing or getting motivated. You get feedback for everything you post. The writing contests are fun and a good challenge. There are some very good reviewers on the site. And the site is easy to use. It has been a great experience for me.
