Some people laugh at British taste which is always posed in such a way as ... Chips with Everything. Well there is some truth in that comment as I prefer chips to baked potatoes as they are nicer to eat. But then the statement has become a metaphor and it seems to say a lot about life in Britain and it needs a little clarification.
The ordinary ideas of people are often pushed forward by the Poetry Society as great poetry and as such that is how great poetry is created. I like the Liverpool poets and some people dont approve of such blanket acceptance and put in the notion of one really pandering to oddball notions of poetry that don't appeal at all.
But having said that then I would expand on why I like Liverpool Poets .. because I met one years ago in England and I had a great evening's entertainment listening to the Liverpool Poet read his own poems ..
So we choose wisely in spite of others such as my friend the Engineer whose opinions are as valuable as mine but his choice of poems - is not the same. He likes War Poets and I must admit recently I have begun to expand my experience and I read War Poets as well! Great poets .... Liverpool Poets are the best! Keep on writing the poems ... nice work!
