This Hindi poem is a marvelous creation of the very famous Hindi poet Dr. Harivanshray Bachchan. Most of us want to achieve more and more success in our life but are we aware-of the consequences that occur in this path of success, which is full of struggle and ups and downs. Being aware of it the poet has given it the name,’Agnipath’, walking on fire. The question rises in our mind that why is it so difficult to walk upon it? The answer is because it requires a lot of sacrifices for which one has to produce vast caliber and capacity and intensive strength in him to bear them. The person on this path has to face so many hurdles during this journey of success.

The very first hurdle is related to those luxuries and facilities which provide us comfort and distract us from our real goal. Whenever they appear toward us, we really feel dizzy and become a victim of them by forgetting our destination. That’s why, for the person on this path, it is necessary to generate and improve the power to ignore them. One should not spend even a single moment for joy and comfort ‘ek patra chhah bhi mang mat, mang mat, mang mat…….’

Secondly, one has to be so adamant and determined to achieve success that he should be ready to face any kind of struggle and hard work without the feeling of tiredness and frustration. For this requirement, he needs to be very strong physically as well as mentally, otherwise this feeling might convince him to stop and return back. ‘Tu na thakega kabhi, tu na thamega kabhi, tu na mudega kabhi kar shapath, kar shapath, kar shapath…….’ He has to take an oath not to move back or leave this path due to fear of hurdles.

Success is a continuous process which never comes to an end. That’s why it always demands sacrifices and hard-work from the person, who wants to retain it forever. So, both of these virtues are essential in a struggler, if he or she wants to achieve great success. ‘Ye mahaan drishya hai, chal rahaa manushya hai, ashru-swed-rakt se lathpath, lathpath, lathpath………’ Finally, his strength, strong will-power, sacrifices and hard-work will lead him to success one after another .So this path can only be followed by initiators, not quitters.
