lovers across the world? Taj
Mahal-the greatest monument of love, or Romeo and Juliet- the great Shakespearean work of literature which stirred the hearts of people all over the world for centuries and continue to do so even today?
Lovers anywhere and everywhere would be happy to be addressed as Romeos or Juliets. Bows to that great Shakespearean soul-tremendous is the impact he created with the tip of his pen.
But did you know, ’Romeo had been madly in love with a girl called Rosaline before he met Juliet, who was undoubtedly far more beautiful than the former’? Rosaline never returned his love, but Juliet did. So, will you agree if I say that Beauty counts in Love, at least when you have choices to select from? When Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet died for each other, they became
immortal. Their love became immortal. They were actually the martyrs of the dreaded enmity between the Montagues and the Capulets. Pity on them! The price they had to pay for their enmity was indeed, beyond any price! Have you ever thought what would have happened if Romeo and Juliet had succeeded in confessing their marriage to their families? I believe, ’It would have resulted in a greater tragedy!’, and Romeo would not have gone in exile. May their souls rest in peace…
