The death of two scientists, a climatologist in Antarctic and a physician in Spain, one sheet of paper beside their bodies with the number 666, as well as a weird email message to a friend of Tomás intercepted by the Interpol, leads them to contact the History teacher and expert in old languages, to help them to find his friend and the mystery surrounding the homicides.
The search for his friend leads Tomás to a short trip to Austria where he learns more about his friend Filipe’s work. The search guides him on a journey to Russia, filled with adventures where romance and chase take place and where something that can affect all human kind is revealed.
This adventure ends in Australia where Tomás meets Filipe again and realizes that he was being used by the Interpol agents, that where in fact hired criminals from oil businessmen, to get to his friend.
Among innumerous trips looking for Filipe, Tomás lives hunted by the dilemma of taking his mother into a foster home in Coimbra, even though he sees her getting worst every time he visits her.
This romance alerts us to the environmental effects that the consumption of carbon and oil was to the planet, explaining how the raising of carbon dioxide on the atmosphere can put in danger all human kind.
