After being high school sweethearts Holly and Gerry fell in love and eventually they married. After marrying young and spending years together leading a perfect life, at the age of 30 Gerry was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Within two months Gerry is dead.
This novel follows the life of Holly, showing her ordeal and following her through the grieving of her husband. Vowing never to leave Holly, Gerry leaves a series of letters to Holly allowing her to still feel her husband around her and with Gerry wanting for her to lead a normal live afterwards.
After months of not leaving her appartment Holly recieves a call off her mother telling her that a package has arrived with her name on. Holly recieves one letter a month telling her what to do since he is gone. Although these were things that Holly wouldn't have done before, she found that she needed to do these things for Gerry.
We follow Holly as she finds a new job, meets new people, goes on vacations and parties with friends. Even with Holly juggling with the posibilities of new romance, whilst still trying to keep true to her words and to Gerry.
As time goes on and the final letters appear Holly realises that she can continue with her life and be happy whilst still keeping true to Gerry.
