Santiago learns the trade of sheperding in Andalusia then dreamt of something about going to
Egyptian Pyramids. He sought
the help of a gypsy to translate his dreams that led him to find that
treasure. He met Melchizedek, King of Salem who gave him 2 stones to interpret omens. While searching for it a newfound friend stole all of his money leaving him to work for a crystal merchant shop. From there he learned Arabic and a lot of lessons along the way.He was joined with an Englishman to find the alchemist at Faiyum Oasis where tribes are in conflict, where he found the love of his life Fatima.As he moved on, one of the inhabitants laugh and reveals that he once had a dream about finding treasure in the very church where Santiago first had the dream. Santiago then returns to the church and finds the treasure, thus realizing his dream. The story shows that, if one dares to dream, no matter how unattainable it may appear at the very onset, one will succeed. With Santiago's courage and determination of achieving his dream that took him to go through trials of toil and time to reach his destination and find the treasure laid buried on the very spot in the old church where he had first dreamt.
