Katie Connelly has been satisfied up to now. Wealthy and beautiful Katie has everything a girl could ask for. She has a nice
apartment, a high-paying job that she loves, an active social life and a back-up trust fund. The only blight in her life was a previous marriage that ended in divorce. Now she was ready to go and meet someone. Going to a single bar to meet with an old boyfriend, she was surprised when her friend suddenly harassed her when she adamantly refused to get back with him. Ramon knew that he couldn’t save his company even putting up his personal wealth as collateral. He was only left with a piece of land in Puerto Rico and he decided that he’ll live the simple life of a farmer. When he met Katie he wanted her as his wife. He wooed her and in the span of a week he was able to make her his fiancée. Katie was head over heels in love with Ramon. One thing that disturbed her was his polish and financial knowledge when he only introduced himself to her as a gentleman farmer. She wouldn’t want to marry him and having him turned out just like her ex-husband. Despite that she believed that Ramon loved her and so she followed him to Puerto Rico where they would be wed. She knew that Ramon didn’t have enough money so she spent her own money to decorate their would-be house although Ramon explicitly forbade her to do so. She also antagonized the priest who would marry them. If she couldn’t have the priest’s blessing, they couldn’t marry. When Katie couldn’t handle Ramon’s mysterious background anymore, she told her that she couldn’t be his wife. Ramon confronted her and told her that she was still comparing her womanizing ex-husband to him. With those differences he told her to return back to the US. Katie knew that she loves Ramon and he was the man for her. She didn’t want to go back and the only thing that Ramon would accept her again was to her to let go of her past and let herself trust Ramon completely.
