Book Summary by: agentKatri

Original Author: Suzanne Brockmann
Lt. Alan “Frisco” Francisco has never been the same when he was injured forcing him to drop out of his Navy Seal team. He
has been miserable and in pain after a bullet has hit his knee discharging him from his Navy SEAL duty. Even though the doctor’s prognosis told him that he couldn’t regain the full use of his knee again, he would still push himself to the limits – training harder and exercising constantly. He refused to allow a wounded knee to keep him out of his team. After numerous unsuccessful surgery Frisco accepted that he wouldn’t be the same Navy soldier again. He was kicked out of the army barracks after living there for 5 years and he was forced to find an apartment and a job. He turned into an alcoholic hating his life everyday. Suddenly his sister appeared and dumped him with his 5-year-old niece Natasha which he hadn’t seen since she was born. He was forced to take care of his niece when his sister admitted herself in rehab. With a busted knee and a helpless kid, Frisco’s life turned more depressing. The only bright thing in his day was when a new neighbor, Mia, moved in next door to his apartment. Mia Summerton immediately saw his dilemma and although he refuses her help because of pride, Mia volunteered her time in taking care of Natasha. The presence of Natasha gave Frisco a different view in life. Suddenly he wanted to become a better person for his niece. And Mia with her sunny disposition helped him to become more positive in his situation. He found himself falling in love with Mia. When his sister’s boyfriend appeared and threatened Natasha, he finally admitted that he needed help. Contacting his former teammates, he was admitting that he couldn’t do everything on his own anymore. Having reconciled with his team mates, Frisco knew that even though he couldn’t be helpful in the field, he could do a good job in strategy and planning. And he would do everything to get Natasha and Mia back from the hands of a kidnapper.
