Book titled "The Case of the Female Orgasm" (Harvard University Press), is a result of analysis
of 33 studies over the past 80 years by the author, Elisabeth Lloyd, which says;
-
Only 25% women are orgasmic during actual intercourse indifferent to how long it lasts, the size of the male organ or the relationship of the couple.
-
Only 50% women sometimes have orgasms during intercourse, 20% seldom or ever, and 5% never have orgasms.
-
Study shows intercourse is not the criteria for most women's sexual satisfaction. No doubt, intercourse is the best way to enjoy sex as it connects the couple in a deep emotional bond.
This statistic has several important implications:
-
It is quite normal for females to not to have orgasms during intercourse. Most women need direct clitoral stimulation for orgasm simply because clitoris is located outside the vagina and a few inches above it and intercourse does not provide enough direct clitoral stimulation to become aroused enough to have orgasms.
-
The role of the size of male sex organ is not much in most women's sexual satisfaction. Only 25% of women are consistently orgasmic. The size no doubt provides pleasure to the man it's attached to. But the key to most women's erotic pleasure comes from direct clitoral stimulation, using the fingers, palm, tongue, or sex toys.
-
Time factor does not matter as most men think it does. Men think they satisfy their partner better if they last long during intercourse but since only 25% women are consistently orgasmic during intercourse no matter how long the man lasts, men should really be creative rather than sticking to the old methods. (For men who want to learn better ejaculatory control, a chapter in my book, Great Sex: A Man's Guide to the Secrets of Whole-Body Sensuality, teaches it.)

Since the percentage of women getting orgasmic experience during intercourse is low, it is good to have sex without intercourse, and better for couples over age 40 years. With age comes erection problems in men and females have menopause, irregular menses, less lubrication and painful intercourse and like issues, women can still enjoy sex without having the intercourse.
