As Stephanie Meyer, the author of Twilight shows, Edward Cullen isn’t your average teenager, in fact he’s been alive for over 600 years, but stays at age 17, because he is a vampire. During the Spanish Influenza in the 1400’s, he was injected by a vampire, and was transformed into a vampire. He is a very tall and handsome guy. But he’s definitely not dark, he is extremely pale. Edward’s eyes are very interesting! Different colors in his eyes almost give off his feelings at the present moment. For example, when he meets Bella Swan, she picks right up on it. He looks at her with red pupils, she cracks a joke about his skin and his head traces down, then he looks back up when Bella say “Your eyes, they changed color”. People seem to really notice his eyes, as they can be very hypnotizing. His skin glistens in the sunlight like diamonds, which would obviously show if he were to be seen in the sun. Edward lives in Forks, Washington; a very cold, rainy and NON sunny place.
At school, everyone notices him, mostly because of his appearance. He can read everyone’s minds through facial expressions, as well as hearing anything within about 200 feet, which makes him a very self aware individual.
Most girls are envious of him, because they all try to flirt and meet him, but he always avoids, making even one girl named Jessica for example say, “That’s Edward Cullen, good looking, but he thinks he’s to good for everyone, don’t even waste your time trying”. This is a complete showcase of Edward, an attractive, but very private guy. When Edward walks into a room, the cafeteria for example, the atmosphere changes, like a gust of wind blowing through. Everyone gets quiet, and all eyes carefully track his every move. A presence that everyone catches. Stephanie Meyer “shows” this trait extremely well, which makes Edward and almost powerful person with his power to change a whole environment of people.
Bella Swan enters science class, sitting next to Edward for the first time. Her whole body expressions change when she lays her eyes on him. He was sitting on the very corner of the desk, extremely tense, with veins pooping out. His eyes extremely dark. Bella becomes very distracted and perpetually interested in the situation. Other than the fact that Edward is desperately trying not to eat her, he shows another side of him, that make people wonder who Edward Cullen really is?
