Dying Wish

Book Review   by:AnnieG     Original Author: Shannon K. Butcher

Dying Wish is the sixth book in authors Shannon K. Butcher
The Sentinel Wars Series. The Sentinel Wars Series features a group of warriors
called Theronai who battle with evil demon like beasts who seek to enslave humanity.
The Theronai live a long time and are born with tattoo like trees on their
chest. As the warrior gets older he suffer from debilitating pain from being
the repository of power but unable to use it. Usually a woman Theronai or
blooded human can save the warrior if his Luceria, a magical necklace, react
with her presence and indicates compatibility between the two.

In this book Jackie has been rescued from long years of
imprisonment and just wants to go back to her normal life, but because the
demons can track her that is no longer an option for her. She must either stay
in the Theronai compound or choose a Theronai warrior to mate with so that he
can protect her when they leave. Unfortunately all the warriors Luceria react
with Jackie’s presence and they all want her as a mate.

Forced to choose among the warriors she decided on Iain a
warrior with the darkest of secrets.
Unable to deny the choice or risk exposing his secret Iain leaves with
Jackie and they start on a new life together.

However the demons are hot on their trail and through many obstacles
Jackie and Iain fall I love. Though Iain dares not let Jackie to close for risk
of hurting her with his secret. When is revealed Jackie must make a choice to
save Iain from the darkness.

This book was an enjoyable read and a great continuation to
the series. Though I gave a brief overview of the story I did not go into much
detail so I did not spoil it for other readers.
