In this book we meet the prince of the Carpathian people
Mikhail Dubrinsky who after centuries of existing without the light and love of
a lifemate feels himself getting closer to turning into an evil vampire.
Psychic Raven Whitney is on a vacation in Romania when she
hears Mikhail’s thought of self-destruction and contacts him telepathically in
order to convince him that life is worth living. Mikhail is shocked at being
contacted telepathically by a human woman and astounded when he realizes that
he is able to see in color an ability he lost years ago. He realizes that Raven
is his lifemate but human woman that are turned turn into mad vampires that
kill without thought.
Mikhail courts Raven deciding that she will stay human and
he will stay with her for as long as she lives.
Other tourists turn out to be vampire hunter who are
suspicious of Mikhail and start investigating him. When a Carpathian woman
giving birth is at risk being discovered by the hunters Raven distracts the
hunters. The hunters realize what Rave is doing and attack Raven.
Mikhail realizes that the only way to save Raven is to try
to turn her into a Carpathian and turns her. To everyone’s surprise Raven
successfully turn into a normal Carpathian and Mikhail realizes that only
psychic women can be turned into Carpathians without going mad.
In the midst of Mikhail’s and Raven’s love story he struggles
to help his people and keep them safe from the hunters.
