Romance is actually an
art of beauty. Some call it an elegant charm. But for some others it is the endurable passion that one can have towards a partner.Considered in both the ways
Romance can be termed as an art of beauty.Romance is an enlightening emotion right from the age of Caesar and Cleopatra.
In Pre-chriatian Britain Romance meant only fornication. But it achieved later implications as age advanced. The harmful
beauty attributed with romance in the earlier period turned out into a new structure with the development of human minds. The various civilizations across the world added many more meanings to it.The medieval period ranging from 16th to 19th century provided new ideologies to the meaning of the word Romance. With the origin of Shakespearean Dramas and Theatres Romance turned out into a powerful word. The word was then the World itself for the people of that time. The Romance of Antony and Cleopatra and the Romance of Hamlet and Ophelia tickled the hearts of the people.romance had its on culture in india too.The relationship of Parvati and Devdas and Dushyantha and Shakuntala is also mind blowing.
However Romance in the modern sense accounts for things of beauty too.The Rasa theory in Indian aesthetics also has a touch with the new coined Romance. The beauty enjoyed by a Sahradaya or the audience is termed as Rasa according to the earlier theorists of India which is now associated with Romance. As Keats had said everything that conjoins itself with beauty can be asscociated with what we call Romance today.A
beautiful painting or an artful scripture can also be called a
Romantic piece of art in which a viewer enjoys a complete freedom of satisfaction in enjoying that certain piece of art.
Leonardo Da Vinci's "The Last supper" and Andrea's saint Albert which are mere paintings are now called modern piece of art which includes romantic beauty.Earlier writers associated Romance with beautiful places with scenic beauties such as meandering rivers and budding roses.Such instances are available in Shakespeare's Plays where he introduces Arcadia- the land of Beauty where every mind wishes to reach.Such situations were present in Kalidasa's 'Shakuntalam' also where he presents the beautiful flowers and the Malini river.Usually these beauty of nature instigated the emotions of the lovers which promoted romance. But in our modern era these specifiactions have changed.Any piece of art today possesses the romantic beauty.
Thus we can conclude that Romance indicates beauty. It could be either the beauty that one
feels in mind or the beauty which everyone feels in a particular thing or piece of art.But we can never claim that every beautiful things are romantic.Romance is actually what one feels in their mind and therefore itself it is subjective.Like beauty Romance is also subjective.
