An eccentric Earl and an
amateur detective mix business with pleasure while they investigate a mystery involving family scandal
and forbidden love.
Sebastian Fleetwood, Earl of Angelstone, was rich and powerful, but not happy. His parents and his brother had died in a horrible accident several years before. Most of his relatives thought him unfit to hold the title. Behind his back, he was called the Fallen Angel. In the court of public opinion, he had been judged unhinged by grief. None of that bothered Sebastian. The only thing that held his interest was private investigations. Until a ghost hunter named Prudence came to town.
Prudence Merryweather did not believe in psychic phenomena. There was a perfectly logical explanation for what some people called ‘ghosts’ and anyone with enough patience and diligence could
discover it. Although she hadn’t managed to find any genuine ghosts, she had found a few disgruntled heirs, some eccentric rich people with disreputable lawyers and a small fortune in jewels while investigating. Her success earned her a bit of fame and brought her to the attention of Sebastian, another
amateur investigator who asked her for help in solving a case.
Before the mystery is solved, Prue and the Fallen Angel will discover quite a few skeletons in more than one family closet.
