A Walk To Remember

Book Review   by:innateleader     Original Author: Nicholas Sparks

This has been a star studded movie of 2002 about unconditional love, true love and everlasting love that you will never forget. It''s a lesson that will always be in the mind of the readers. It''s about taking a risk. It proves that love is a leap of faith.

A Walk To Remember is a beautiful story of both love and loss throughout two very young lives. The two main characters are Landon Carter(Shane West) and Jamie Sullivan(Mandy Moore). These two people find themselves unexpectadly thrown together after a practical joke between Landon and his friends which leaves a boy in hospital, as punishment Landon is forced to partake in some after school activities including the spring play. The truth of the matter is Landon cannot act, so he acquires the help of the beautiful Jamie. As you see Jamie doesn''t need to be noticed, she is quiet and keeps herself most of the time. Landon and his friends always make fun of Jamie as if it is a day to day task, but one day Landon brings up the courage to ask for her help with his lines, through trials and tribulations leading up to this play Land some how falls in love with the beautiful ministers daughter abonding his friends to be with her Landon shares a true love with the girl, but a heart breaking secret lies between the couple, can they save their relationship and make all their dreams come true?
Here''s some line in the book/movie that I want to emphasize:
Jamie: I''m sick.
Landon: I''ll take you home. You''ll be be...
Jamie: No. Landon! I''m sick. I have Leukemia.
Landon: No. You''re 18. You - you''re perfect.
Jamie: No. I found out two years ago and I''ve stopped responding to treatments.
Landon: So why didn''t you tell me?
Jamie: The doctor said I should go on and live life normally as best I could. I - I didn''t want anybody to be weird around me.
Landon: Including me?
Jamie: Especially you!
[Jamie looks down
]
Jamie: [Landon gets upset
]
Jamie: Ya know, I was getting along with everything fine. I accepted it, and then you happened! I do not need a reason to be angry with God.
[Jamie runs away
]

In these lines, I came up with a realization that Landon''s love is unconditional. Jamie''s faith to God is strong. She never loses hope because of Landon''s love. When Landon knows that he''ll loss Jamie, he stayed beside Jaime and never leave her. It''s about love and loss but it''s an extraordinary love one can give to someone who is about to die.

Lastly, I want to quote a verse in the Sacred Scriptures.

Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast,
it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking.
It is not easily angered,
it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil,
but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts,
always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.
