Life and unusual adventures of Private Ivan Chonkin

Book Review by: silasstar

Original Author: Vladimir Voinóvich
This abstract was translated from Vida e insólitas aventuras del soldado Iván Chonkin
On the eve of estadillo of the Second World War, a plane of the Red Army carried out a forced landing in a remote village
in Russia. The soldier Ivan Chonkin, a Russian peasant like any other amaestrado by the nonsense military, was sent with orders to guard the device. In principle is sent to a single week, but the estadillo of war makes that very soon be forgotten and that Chonkin have to arreglársela on their own, why it just integrating into the peculiar life of the people and their estrafalarios neighbors, happen then a series of hilarantes situations that precipitate when the German army crosses the border and the political police sent a detachment to arrest Chonkin for desertion. This novel, considered the best Russian satirical novel of the last fifty years, circulated clandestinely by Russia until the advent of perestroika when he finally was able to formally edited. And for her, the author was forced into exile. All of which gives an insight into the wisdom and is Voinóvich the need to portray a society and military institutions, as it is accurate to criticize and make a mockery.
