Gilded Age" is a satirical
novel written by Mark Twain and Charles Dudley Warner. The novel comments on exploitation, manipulations, greed, and economic speculation during the post-Civil War reconstruction period. Apparently, the title of the book says it all, the gilded era.
The plot is set in Missouri, New York and Washington, D.C.. It relates to various shady dealings of unscrupulous individuals, from their personal relationsips and carried over to ther questionable dubious financial businesses.
