The
novel Mother Night by the notorious Kurt Vonnegut is a masterpiece of satire that should be read by any who seek to laugh at the ridiculous nature of their own race. It is a novel in the form of an autobiography,
written by an American, who became a high ranking official in the Nazi propaganda department during the
war (comically enough, by accident), literally became a Nazi radio voice broadcast from Germany, to the U.S. during the war. The book simply recounts his life, up to the present. Not only is it wildy fantastic, entertaining and enjoyable, but it is highly moralistic, attempting to seduce the reader into questioning him or herself about everyday commonly accepted facts. Mother Night is above all a good, solid piece of literature, written in the unrellenting calm, cool, talented style of one of America's most beloved authors.
