Off Armagedon''s Reef

Book Review by: Brian Middleton

Original Author: David Weber
Another riveting story of humanity by the master story teller; David Weber brings to life with vivid
detail and masterful characters and plot a story of infinite depth. Humanity faces complete extinction at the hands of a mysterious xenophobic race. In a last ditch attempt to save our race, a colony is sent to the farthest reaches of space with orders to use minimal technology for several hundred years. The escape is made without a hitch, but all is not well. Political factions of the colony leadership create a anti-technology religion, coups are staged and plans are formulated. That is just the first couple chapter.      In a way that is completely original, Weber combines Sci-fi with Swashbuckling sailing, spy networks,  moral and religious philosophy and the story of individual''s and nation''s struggles to survive. Combined with a satire wit and an energetic story line, you will not want to put this book down.
