„The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” is a very interesting, absorbing and valuable novel for children, however it is dlightful also for older readers. Four siblings, Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy Pevensie are forced to move out to the country because of the war. They find shelter in a huge and mysterious house of Professor Kirke. The children decide to tour the house and during the little trip they find the Wardrobe. Lucy looks into it and finds a row of furs. The girl loves the touch of furs, so she decides to enter the Wardrobe. She elbows her way between the clothings and finally, insteda of the rear side, her hand touch branches of a tree. In this way Lucy turns up in a different land, Narnia. The girl meets there a faun, Mr Tumnus, who reveals the truth about Narnia to her. It turns out that the country is in the rule of evil White Witch, who tries to turn it into the land of eternal winter.Siblings Pevensie decide to help Narnia. Together with indigenous inhabitants of the forest, talking animals, fauns and centaurs they fight against the Witch and her helpers. During the unusual journey the children experience amazing adventures and find in themselves strenght thay they have never expected to have. „The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” is the first episode of “The Chronicles of Narnia”, what consists of seven volumes. All the parts are popular among readers in every age.
