Ender''s Game

Book Review by: YerocSema

Original Author: Orson Scott Card
Imagine if you will, a world in which you may only have so many children.  A world where children
are ridiculed and abused for being a third or fourth born child.  A world where gifted children are carted away by the military for training.  A world under attack.
Ender, an amazingly brilliant and gifted child, is a third born.  He is a loner, a loser, an outcast, even with his awesome mind, he is hazed by the children around him, and even his older brother.
One day after school, Ender is confronted by a particularly evil bully tries to start a fight with him.  Ender is forced to fight back.  When the fight is over, Ender is virtually unharmed, and the other boy lays bloody on the sidewalk.
After military officials see the kind of things that Ender can do, they become interested.  Ender is taken from his family and shipped off to a military training facility... in space.  The facility is where gifted children are taken and taught about strategy, history, and other things relating to military life.  The most important and exciting part of children''s training, is the game.  The game is where the trainees are conditioned for strategy, intelligence, teamwork, and other traits that will lead them to become brilliant military personel.
So Ender''s life of training, persistence, exile, and genious begins.  He goes through many hard times within the academy, but his real hard times begin outside of it.  What have Ender and his companions been training for?  They have been training for the fight, the last chance at human survival, the war against... The Buggers.
