The Unwaba
Revelations is the third and last part of the immensely engrossing “The GameWorld Trilogy”, authored by India’s first eminent Science fiction-
fantasy writer, Samit Basu.
The rich under-current that the
Gods are at play with the
World that flows through the first two parts of The Gameworld Trilogy, is present in the concluding part also and promises to be a fitting
end to the saga that began with The Simoqin Prophecies. In the Unwaba revelations, the world has moved alarmingly close to an all-engulfing battle – a battle in which everything will be won or everything will be lost. But all of this, of course, is not random, but it is happening under the all-seeing eyes of the assembled gods. If the armies are on the move, it is because the Gods want them moving.
But when this madness will end, the world will have to end too. Otherwise the madness will have no end …
But such is the nature of the protagonists, Kirin and Maya, in The Unwaba Revelations, that they will sacrifice everything (well, almost) to find a way out of this disharmony to save the world; to defeat the gods at their own game. The situation is daunting, no doubt, but it has been made worse by the
fact that the gods, who control all the heroes, are unashamedly cheating by following only one rule—that they cannot be defeated by their own creations. Purely egotistical. Yes, the Gods also suffer from it.
As marathon battles devastate the
earth, Kirin and Maya, who have an old and infirm, highly peculiar and untrustworthy chameleon to guide them, and urged on by the numerous vibrant characters, carry out their clandestine plan; a plan so covert that, in fact, no one involved has any idea what they are doing!
Ogres, monsters, mayhem, mud-swamps; conspiracies, calamities, chimeras;
betrayals, buccaneers, bloodshed—The Unwaba Revelations continues the roller coaster journey that began with The Simoqin Prophecies and gathered momentum with The Manticore’s Secret. Traversing earth, sea and sky, realms both infernal and celestial, worlds both imagined and material, this book will draw you charismatically into an enticing, action-packed, epic race to reclaim the damaged, supernatural world of its heroes.
