The Giver is a fantasy book created by a famous fiction novelist, Lois Lowry. It is the first book of the Community Trilogy. The Giver mostly talked about a 12 years old kid with the name of Jonas, who lived in a community, in the so-called "Perfect World" where there is no war, and all people have the same thoughts about everything.Nothing is perfect. That is the message that the author, Lois Lowry gave to us on this book. The so-called "Perfect World" turns out to be some kind of an utopia, after Jonas, in the later chapter of the book, meets The Giver. In this book, The Giver is the only person who knows that this world is not perfect. Jonas'' Community, are the people who never have different opinion, they are always at a same thought, and so, there is no war, because there is no internal conflict itself. After the meeting with The Giver, Jonas will finally understand, that his world, his community, never was a perfect place. It really has no war, that''s right, but, the community turns out to be erasing all the feelings that could turn up war. Feelings of love, hate, anger, they are erased from the community. The Giver by Lois Lowry is a book, that first might made people think that Jonas'' world is an ideal world, but, at later chapters, we ourselves, the reader, will find out that it is just another utopia. The Giver is a really good book, and I would recommend this book to specific people, including:- People who were studying politics- High school studentsI recommend this book, because from this book, those people would understand, that there is no way that this world can be perfect. All that we can do, is try our best to make it better and better. Also, I would not recommend this book to elementary school student. This book has a little violence, and elementary students may not understand about the theme and the message that Lois Lowry is trying to give from this book.
