Lord of the Rings - Fellowship of the Ring

Book Review by: nunomegas

Original Author: J. R. R. Tolkien
This abstract was translated from O Senhor dos Anéis - A Irmandade do Anel
This is the first romance that takes us on a long journey throughout an imaginary (but strangely real) world of a group of
friends that, by chance, become to be part of the greatest and decisive battle of the Middle Earth. Without spoiling, the plot starts when Bilbo Baggins delivers to Frodo Baggins, his nephew, a magic ring (that makes  invisible whom puts it in the finger). Gandalf, old friend of them both, decides to search about the source of that ring and finds out that the ring is evil, and belongs to the villain of all the three romances - Sauron. All the action develops towards an end: to destroy the ring before it returns to his old master (Sauron). Meanwhile, a lot of things happen until the end of this mission. This first volume can be resumed in: finding the ring, the formation of a group of 9 elements to destroy the ring, the splitting of the group into two parts: Frodo and Sam that continue towards the mission of destroying the ring, and the rest of them that go in aid of Merry and Pippin. In order to understand and somehow live in this world of phantasy, we are given thorough descriptions os each cenario and creature that the group finds or crosses, thus allowing our imaginacion "fill in" this world of phantasy.
