Magician

Book Review   by:Moog     Original Author: Raymond E Feist

Set in the land of Midkemia, Magician is a fast-paced story of epic proportions. The tale follows the adventures of Pug, an orphan and lowly keep-boy in the Ducal town of Crydee. Apprenticed at a young age by the Duke's Magiacian, Pug shows promise of powerful abilities yet seems unable to access them. He and his boyhood friends live a simple life within Crydee until, suddenly, their entire existence is thrown into turmoil with the discovery of a strange ship and a man from another world.

Pug finds himself thrust into a race against time to save Crydee and the whole of Midkemia from a warlike people, set on claiming the land for their own. The Tsurani have found a great rift between their world and Midkemia and are rapidly reading for a massive assault.

Through unexpected twists of fate, our young hero rises to become the most powerful Magician of two worlds - and pivotal to the survival of both.

This book is, without doubt, one of the best in it's genre - a riveting read from start to finish. If you enjoyed Tolkein, you will most definitely enjoy Feist's Magician.
