Rides a Dread Legion is the newest and arguably the best work by Feist since the Riftwar
Saga. It feels like renewed life has been given to old characters and new characters are put in place to fill voids by ones that have been killed off during the past. Pug and the Conclave of Shadows struggle against a set of new enemies along with the reappearance of some that were only hinted at in the past. Thomas is put in the front of the issue with surprising twist and turns that will keep the reader flipping pages unable to get away from the storyline.
Having followed the work of Feist through the years I can say this story reminds me of the times when the excitement of reading the
magician books gave me an adrenaline rush. Favorite characters once again give a sense of familiarity to the struggle and the
fulfillment of Pugs agreements of the past begin to manifest. Being the beginning of a series this installment made me hungry for the next one. What happens when all the pieces fall in place does the greatest magician in the world have to pay the ultimate price? I can't wait to find out.
