One day, a woodcutter found a Star-child. He brought the child home and took care of him. The Star-child grew up. He was beautiful. However, he was arrogant and unkind. He behaved badly. One day, he treated a beggar-woman badly. This beggar-woman was actually his mother. The beggar-woman then found out that the Star-child was her son. The Star-child did not want to accept his mother. The beggar-woman asked her son to kiss her before she left, but the Star-child refused. He said that the beggar-woman was too ugly and he would rather kiss a snake or a toad than her. Then, the Star-child’s appearance became ugly. His face became like the face of a toad and his body was like a snake. He then went to search for his mother for three years to ask for forgiveness, but he could not find her. One day, he was sold by a rich man to one of the most evil magicians in the city for the price of a bowl of sweet wine. The magician ordered the Star-child to find white, yellow and red gold on three different days. The Star-child managed to find the three of them with the help from a rabbit. But the three pieces of gold were in the end given to a beggar. As a result, for the first and the second day, he was punished by the magician.
On the third day, after giving the red gold to the beggar, he went back to the magician who wanted to kill him if he did not bring the red gold. On the way back, the guards at the gates of the city thought that he was a lord, as he was beautiful. (his appearance had changed back) A crowd followed him and he lost his way. Finally, he found himself in a great open space in front of the palace of a king. The priests and high officers wanted the Star-child to be their king. But the Star-child wanted to find his mother to ask for forgiveness as he had treated her badly. Suddenly, he saw his mother with the beggar whom he had helped with the three pieces of gold. Later, he found out that his mother and the beggar were a queen and a king. The King was actually his father. In the end, the Star-child became the King of the city. He was a good king. However, he ruled for a short time only. The King who ruled after him was not kind.
