The novel “Virtual Mode” is about a fourteen year old suicidal girl named Colene who has a philandering father and an alcoholic
mother, which is one of the reasons why she’s depressive. But all of that changes after she saves Darius an injured man on the street who is actually a Cyng of Hlatar (translated King Of Laughter), and
wishes to take Colene as his bride. But he soon
realizes that Colene is not fit to be his wife because he can not transfer joy from her. Without even thinking about Colene’s love he uses a key which transfers him back to his own Mode, but soon realizes he had made a big mistake and wishes to get back with Colene. Now he must journey through other modes to find her and face DDwng, who will stop at nothing to steal the key from darius!
