Definitions
  


Public Relations – is the business, organizational, philanthropic, or social function of managing communication between an organization and its audiences. There are many goals to be achieved by the practice of public relations, including education, correcting a mistruth, or building or improving an image.   Is the art and science of managing communication between an organization and its key constituents to build manage, and sustain its positive reputation.   In simple terms, good PR encourages the media (newspapers, magazines, TV and radio) to say good things about your products/ service/ institution or whatever it is that you want to promote so that more people will patronize your product/service or institution.  
 PR Techniques
  
In our present time, public relations use various strategies such as newspaper, radio, television, internet, surveys, among others.   The hottest PR strategy being used as the country is approaching the May 15 national and local elections is the survey. Various survey groups claimed they have scientific formula and interviewed almost 2,000 voters. Among others, the surveys groups shared their information on who are the winnable and non winnable candidates.  
Public Relations Involve
:  
 Evaluation of public attitudes and opinions. Formulation and implementation of an organization’s procedures and policy regarding communication with its publics. Coordination of communications programs. Developing rapport and good-will through a two way communication process. Fostering a positive relationship between an organization and its public constituents.  
 Examples Include:  

§         Non-profit organizations use public relations to support the campaign in protecting children and the family against pornography.
§         Schools and universities, hospitals, and human and social service agencies, use public relations to support awareness programs, fund-raising programs, staff recruiting, and to increase patronage of their services.
 §         Corporations also use public-relations as a vehicle to reach legislators and other politicians, seeking favorable tax, regulatory, and other treatment, and they may use public relations to portray themselves as enlightened employers, in support of human-resources recruiting programs.
