This is very crispy book, which one can complete in 1-2 hours, comprising of a very interesting story. This may sound very
simple to few people, but it contains words of wisdom. With four characters named sniff, scurry (two mice), Hem and Haw (two little people), the book tries to communicate the basic lesson, as to how different people react to
changes. The title of the book, who moved my cheese, is carefully chosen. Cheese here may mean different things as per different people, i.e for some their job, their business, for some family relations, and for some other important things in life etc. Generally people don’t like the changes and if the change occurs then there may be different kind of reaction by different people. For example (a) some sniffs out the change
immediately (sniff), (b) some take action immediately to adapt to the change (Scurry) (c)some may resist strongly and start complaining about the change and wish the things be made again of the same kind, as he feels that change is always bad (hem) and (d) some people initially resist, but tries to adapt by changing times, as he feels that the change may lead to some thing better. The story runs in very interesting manner, as to how the four character reacted when the cheese was moved from a particular section of the maze. Sniff and scurry immediately rushed, without thinking much, i.e. got into action. Haw has made the story full of morals, as he is the character, who first was of Hem kind, but later on he decided to change, thinking that what more worse can happen to him, by moving from one place, which at sometime was a comfort zone, but now being difficult to survive. While moving in search of fresh cheese, he had passed through various mental pressures, which are the part of normal man, while leading his life in this world full of uncertainties and pressure. The feeling of satisfaction, which haw got, once he found another wonderful piece of peace, can not be explained. It conveyed the message, that till the time man is afraid of uncertainties, he can not lead a happy life. Sometime leading to unknown path may provide the better opportunities and also great sense of satisfaction.
